Scripture
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Acts 3:19
Repentance is more than simply confessing sin; it is a complete turning away from it and aligning ourselves with God's will and His ways. In Scripture repentance is often linked with restoration and renewal. It invites God's forgiveness and opens the door for His Spirit to move in our lives. Unrepented sin can create distance between us and God not on God's end but from our own shame and self-condemnation. However repentance bridges that gap and ushers in intimacy with Him. True repentance is motivated by love and a desire to be closer to God not out of guilt or fear. It reflects our humility and trust in God's kindness grace and mercy towards us.
Reflection
Are there areas in your life where you need to repent? How can repentance bring you into deeper intimacy with God?
Prayer
Father, I come before You with a humble heart. Search me and know me. Reveal anything in my life that doesn't align with You. I repent of my sins and turn toward You. Thank You for Your kindness and forgiveness that has restored me to You. Amen.
